1/7How to strike a balance between portion size and nutrition
What comes to your mind first, when you hear the word – Balance and how important it is for you today?
Well for most of us, a ‘Work-Life Balance’ is what we need. Work is the top priority over everything else in our lives, and many a time we struggle to create a harmony between our personal life and work. Longer work hours, increased responsibilities at work and home, taking office calls at the dinner table, checking mails while having your morning coffee – these create an imbalance in the equilibrium affecting not just your physical health but also your mental wellbeing. Research reveals that people who are able to give sufficient time to their families and health, are happier and more productive at work.
The same goes with striking a balance with your food habits. The moment there is an imbalance, you will fall prey to malnutrition (obesity and nutrient deficiencies) and chronic disorders like diabetes, hypertension, cancer and heart diseases. All the New Year’s resolutions and fad diets for quick weight loss, fizzle out as they are not balanced. If you are going through erratic eating behaviours, don’t rush, start slow and set your goals.
