A compelling new video – going viral on the Internet as we speak – asks the question, what’s the single best thing you can do for your health? The answer, according to narrator Dr. Mike Evans, is to limit your sitting and sleeping in other words your periods of inactivity to 23 ½ hours a day.
That’s it.
Its quite simply the best advice for chronic disease prevention we have seen in 2011. And we are doing our best to promote it.
Limit your sitting and sleeping to 23 ½ hours a day. Quite simple isn’t it?
You spend most of your day couch surfing, sitting at work, and sleeping. The best thing you can do for your health, he says, is to spend half an hour to an hour a day being active to realize incredible health benefits and reduction in incidence of conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, anxiety and depression. Moderate exercise done regularly is the best return on investment from a health perspective.
The video has been making the rounds and – as of this writing – has received more than 600,000 views on YouTube alone. It’s proven itself to be a wonderful and persuasive communications tool to help people improve their lives and their health.
Today, we’re asking you: Can you limit your own sitting and sleeping to 23 1/2 hours? It’s Resolution season, and we’re inviting you to join us on Facebook, to tell us how you plan to get moving for half an hour.
