mDiabetes, our successful SMS program, was designed as a population-level nationwide public health intervention to test if text messages in multiple languages could establish health behaviors known to prevent diabetes. This groundbreaking project reached over one million persons from rural and urban India. The results published in the August 2016 Journal of Medical and Internet Research show 15% public health impact.
We have partnered with Ambuja Cement Foundation to launch our mDiabetes program into remote Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Our aim is to educate 200,000 people about diabetes in the next three years.
